Saxby lighthouse

Saxby lighthouse aka Vormsi lighthouse was built in 1864. It was the first cast iron lighthouse of Gordon system in Estonia. Near Saxby lighthouse, in the forest there are partially remained Sea Fort fortifications of Peter the Great and they were built at the beginning of the 20th century. We recommend to visit Saxby lighthouse in daylight but also during the sunset. It is told that the sun is said to set there notably beautifully.
Saxby lighthouse is open to guests from 31 May to 31 August from Wednesday to Sunday 10.00-16.00. Other times can be agreed upon by phone number (+372) 55 561 263

Tickets

  • Student, pensioner, accompanying persons with disabilities €2
  • Ticket for groups from 10 people €2/person (paid for the whole group)
  • Children up to 6 years are free

Visiting the Saxby lighthouse outside official opening hours is possible by agreement for a one-time fee: 20 euros per hour and 3 euros for a single ticket (discounts do not apply).

Norrby Lighthouses

Upper and lower lighthouses of Norrby, which locate in the eastern part of the island, are built from ferrocondrete in 1935. The upper lighthouse of Norrby is the biggest lighthouse built before World War II, its diameter is 3 metres and height 34 metres. The lower lighthouse is 22 metres high and its diameter is 2 metres.
