Education has been provided on Vormsi Island since 1873. The current school building was completed in 1937, and since 2005, the name of the school and kindergarten has been Vormsi Lasteaed-Põhikool (official abbreviation VLP).

The kindergarten accepts children aged one and a half to seven years from Vormsi Municipality. If there are available spots, children from other municipalities can also be admitted. The summer childcare service is open in July from Monday to Wednesday, from 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM.
